Meet the Woodwright
From a young age, Stan Green was immersed in the world of woodworking. Growing up in a family where building was a way of life, his earliest memories involve the scent of sawdust and the rhythmic hammering of his father's projects. He wasn't just an observer; as soon as he was old enough to wield a hammer, Stan actively participated, even contributing to the construction of his family's home.
This early hands-on experience was further nurtured by a high school woodworking class, laying a solid foundation for a lifelong passion. Over the years, Stan's skills continued to develop as he crafted pieces for his own family, each project a testament to his growing expertise and love for the craft.
Later in life, Stan sought to expand his knowledge and connect with fellow enthusiasts by taking a woodworking class at his local maker space. It was in 2023 that a new chapter began to unfold. Initially inspired by the potential of reclaimed materials, Stan discovered he could transform used wood, particularly pallets, into beautiful and functional creations. This exploration soon broadened as he identified sources for other sustainable woods, realizing the immense possibilities of crafting exquisite pieces while minimizing environmental impact. This pivotal moment marked the birth of The Green Woodwright, a testament to Stan's commitment to both exceptional craftsmanship and responsible sourcing.

Welcome to The Green Woodwright! Our name embodies the heart of what we do. "Green" reflects both the legacy of our founder, Stan Green, and our deep commitment to using sustainably sourced wood in all of our creations. The term "Woodwright" pays homage to the time-honored craft of woodworking, a tradition we carry forward with passion and skill.
The journey to The Green Woodwright began in 2023 when Stan started crafting wooden items with the idea of sharing his creations. The latter part of 2023 and early 2024 were spent honing skills, acquiring the necessary tools, and, most importantly, discovering the potential of sustainable wood. This revelation sparked a fundamental shift in focus, leading to the decision to prioritize environmentally responsible materials for the majority of our products.
In late 2024, we began sharing our handcrafted pieces on Facebook Marketplace, receiving enthusiastic support and valuable feedback. Building on this momentum, The Green Woodwright officially came to life in the spring of 2025.
